BRIEF
For the second successive year, PLATINUM ONE was appointed Official Pre Season Partner to FC Barcelona. Following on from the success of the 2007 Pre Season ‘Stage’, PLATINUM ONE was tasked with the job of delivering a first class training facility to coincide with FC Barcelona’s pre season schedule. This included all transportation logistics, accommodation for the team and staff and the delivery of state of the art training pitches that exceeded the expectations of FC Barcelona
OBJECTIVES
• Deliver a world class training facility environment for one of the games greatest clubs.
• Create an experience, designed and delivered by PLATINUM ONE, to showcase the agency’s credentials in UK and Spain as one of Europe’s leading sports & event companies.
• Provide the company with a unique brand positioning and commercial platform for the future.
• Deliver a ‘world-class’ event for the second year in succession demonstrating PLATINUM ONE’s consistency in delivery of high end events in terms of scope, profile and creativity. We again demonstrated all of PLATINUM ONE’s sporting knowledge and networks; event and logistics excellence and multi-lingual and multi-country/marketing expertise.
• Drive a commercial return for PLATINUM ONE by creating an ‘asset’ the company would own and develop for increasing future financial and profile benefit.
STRATEGY
• PLATINUM ONE utilised and built upon the successful relationship that was created in 2007 with FC Barcelona. Testament to the success of the 2007 stage, FC Barcelona were eager to come back to St Andrews,
• World-class training & accommodation facilities were provided for the entire FC Barcelona squad and Board of Directors in St. Andrews.
• PLATINUM ONE organised two friendly fixtures during FC Barcelona’s stay in Scotland. The team played against Hibernian FC in Murrayfield and Dundee United in Tannadice.
ACTIVITY
• PLATINUM ONE managed every operational facet of their 6-day stay, including all travel, accommodation, food, transport, security, training facilities (including pitches) and media facilities.
• FC Barcelona completed nine training sessions over the week
• For each of FC Barcelona’s Pre-season Stage fixtures, PLATINUM ONE managed all logistics, security, media conferences, football and event management requirements.
RESULT
After another hugely successful pre season tour in Scotland, FC Barcelona has expressed strong wishes to work with PLATINUM ONE again over the coming years to manage their pre season tours.
