and Gordon D’Arcy all tasted victory on Saturday evening at Croke Park as Ireland began their 2009 RBS 6 Nations campaign with a thrilling 30-21 victory over France. Heaslip scored a breathtaking first half try and went on to play a pivotal role in the win, collecting the Man of the Match honours in the process. Fitzgerald, playing on the left wing, was particularly strong in defence but it was the returning D’Arcy who grabbed the headlines with his 68th minute try. The Wexford native came off the bench in what was his first Test match since breaking his arm at the same venue last February.
