SHORTLISTED FOR RBS AWARD

Ireland number 8 Jamie Heaslip is one of six players shortlisted for the 2009 RBS 6 Nations Player of the Championship. Heaslip, who scored his second try of the campaign in Saturday’s 22-15 win at Murrayfield against Scotland, will start next Saturday’s Championship decider against Wales in Cardiff. In 2004 Heaslip was nominated for the IRB Under 21 Player of the Year Award after he captained Ireland to the final of the IRB Under 21 World Cup.
Fellow PLATINUM ONE clients Gordon D’Arcy – a former winner of the RBS 6 Nations Player of the Championship – and Luke Fitzgerald are also named in Ireland’s starting line-up with Ireland seeking a first Grand Slam since 1948.
