HISTORIC DAY FOR LEINSTER

(25 May 2009)

Irish rugby's golden season continued on Saturday in Edinburgh as Leinster became European champions after defeating Leicester 19-16 in a pulsating Heineken Cup Final. Leinster's only try, scored by Jamie Heaslip, proved to be a crucial turning point as it brought the sides level with a half an hour left on the clock. Leinster edged in front with ten minutes remaining and held firm in defence to claim their first European title.

The team at PLATINUM ONE is rightly proud of the efforts of Gordon D'Arcy, Luke Fitzgerald, Jamie Heaslip and Shane Horgan - all four of whom started Saturday's final.
